DIY CUT-OUT BANDAGE DRESS

I will admit that the cut-out trend is not exactly new but is definitely one of those trends that is here to stay.
It is one of the few things that can amp up the most plain or boring dresses into something chic and sexy.

Cut-outs are so versatile; they can be placed tons of places different shapes sizes and on different styles of dresses.

ANYWAY for this DIY Project you will need:
  • A dress (I got mine at a Value Village [thrift shop] for 3 dollars the brand was forever 21)
  • A razor
  • Ruler
  • Sharp scissors
  • OPTIONS: Sewing machine/Needle and thread/Fabric Glue/Hot glue gun (I used a hot glue gun)
  • Taylor's Chalk/Pen/Pencil (I used a white oil pastel because I keep forgetting to buy Taylor's Chalk)
  • A design/ Imagination
  1. Try on your dress; decide and mark where you want you cutout(s) to be.
  2. Lay the dress on a flat surface, use your ruler and pen/chalk to draw lines and place markers
  3. Using the razor blade, make an incision to place the scissors to cut the pattern.

  4. Cut the pattern using the blade or scissors
  5. Sew or Stick the raw edges to create a smooth finished appearance
And the end product
BEFORE
AFTER

AND ZEE BACK

The back seems slightly off centred and the edges aren't perfect (would have preferred to sew if I knew how.  But overall I'm happy with the outcome, will you dare to reveal some skin this summer?

(Tip: Measure the shape you want and create midpoints for an even store bought look)
