Another DIY Rainbow Shorts

With summer around the corner for many, already there for few. I finally decided to re-vamp various pairs of shorts.

Rainbow shorts showered many legs last summer but I'm now getting around to making my own.
This is my first post and it is actually so easy I considered not posting it.

For this DIY project, you will need:

  • An old pair of jeans or denim shorts/ white pants or shorts
  • Ruler and pen
  • Scissors
  • Tie Dye or Fabric Spray paint
  • An open area

I got my spray tie dye set from a Brand called Tulip (Neon Party Pack) at Michael's for 30USD with a 40% off discount which was not that bad.My set has nine colors I used every color but the black and white.

1. Lay out your pants and draw a straight line about 2 or 3 inches where your regular shorts would fall.
2. Cut, check in the mirror by trying on and mark where your second cut should be, repeat until you're satisfied with the length
3. Fray (OPTIONAL)
4. Lay your shorts out on newspaper outside on a flat surface.
5. Spray in the pattern you want, I did mine vertically.

I recommend you first decide exactly how you want the colours to be placed eg. yellow green blue purple pink orange and so on.

I did mine randomly.

Also put newspaper in between the legs of the shorts if you want a different colour pattern on the back since the colours will more than likely seep through.
I sprayed my front twice for a vibrant look.
Wash separately or with other dyed clothing after drying for 4-6 hours or overnight.

Et Voila
